Disabilities Put A Financial Strain On Local Family

backback

In speaking with Nate—a volunteer from the New Hope Church food pantry—Rafaela explains that, due to intellectual disabilities, both of her adult children have difficulty finding jobs. All three of them are unemployed. Life has been very hard for them as of late, and she and her children struggle to provide for both themselves and for her daughter’s children, whose father is unwilling to lend support.

“But,” Rafaela said, “thank God for this food ministry. Because of the food you guys provide, we are able to eat. If we didn’t have this option given to us, then I do not know what we would do. We would be in serious trouble. Thank you, and thank God!”

Indeed, thanks be to God, and thank you to the Rescue Mission Alliance Valley Food Bank and all of its generous donors. Because of you, we are able to continue providing our neighbors like Rafaela with nutritious food that helps sustain and nourish their families.
