The hot summer months are already especially tough for the families Valley Food Bank serves. When school is out, kids do not have access to school breakfast and lunch programs. That leaves a big gap for moms and dads to fill.
Our donations slow down just as our neighbors need us most. You see, during June, July, and August, we just don’t get enough food to help those in need.
And with the COVID pandemic continuing to affect our communities, we are facing an even greater challenge. Even as businesses reopen, many are left without jobs, or with reduced hours. Children are not in school and likely won't return for months.
We try to prepare as best we can for these lean summer months, but the demand keeps growing, and we really need your help. Your gift can fill the shelves of the pantries so we can feed the people who depend on them.
