ROTARIANS DELIVER MUCH-NEEDED RESOURCES, SHOW THEIR COMMITMENT
It’s Monday morning and our Rotarian friends from Studio City-Sherman Oaks arrive at the Rescue Mission Alliance Valley Food Bank with two vehicles filled with the food resources we had been needing. I quickly did the Four-Way test (part of the Rotarian moral code): Is it true? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
Pretty easy one—our friends were certainly true to their word and delivered much-need food—and lots of it! We believe it more than fair to all concerned. People who thought they would be going without will now be blessed with the resources they need to feed themselves and their families. Their donation is definitely building goodwill and better friendships in the community—lending a hand to our neighbors in need is the ultimate act of service and goodwill. And this gift will benefit a host of struggling individuals and families who are dealing with hardships that many thought they’d never face.
Thank you to our friends at Rotary for your on-going support and for responding so quickly to our need. You do not just recite the Four-way Test— you live it. Kudos.
