The Rescue Mission Alliance Valley Food Bank has been selected for the 2021 Best of Pacoima Award in the Individual and Family Services category by the Pacoima Award Program. The Food Bank, located on Van Nuys Boulevard, partners with pantries all over the Valley to provide people with healthy food throughout the week.

Each year, the Pacoima Award Program identifies organizations that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and our community. These companies help make the Pacoima area a great place to live, work and play.

“It is always an honor when others recognize the work being done to serve the community,” said Will Hernandez, director of the Rescue Mission Alliance Valley Food Bank. “We continually advocate that ‘it is not about us,’ but the reality is, for us to serve as many people as we do, it is essential that we do many things safely and efficiently, being mindful that others are the beneficiaries of our efforts.

“Our team, coupled with the support of many volunteers, donors, heroes and civic organizations, have come together to ensure the neediest of families in our community receive the essentials they need. We applaud them for their partnership and sacrifice.”
