After 10 years of partnership, The House delights in serving from its home base
It has been 10 years since The House and the Rescue Mission Alliance Valley Food Bank have come together, and it is the first year we have been able to serve our community from our new location. The efficiency of serving from our home base here has been a Godsend and we have enjoyed every moment.
In the light of the COVID crisis and the shutdown starting in 2020, the pantry ministry has been even more meaningful since, as a church, we needed an area of ministry in which we could continue to serve and represent as those who serve a servant King. It has been a blessing to be enabled to serve the community this way, especially in a time of such great need.
Through the pantry, the Lord allows us to live out our core value of being involved in the community. Needless to say, over this decade, our partnership with the Rescue Mission Alliance Valley Food Bank has been vital to our life as a church. I would say that the passage of the Bible that fits here perfectly is Psalm 37:3-4, “Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
Truly, through these times of fellowship with each other and the community, we have experienced the satisfaction of the desire of our heart, which is more of King Jesus Himself, our eternal bread of life.
