Director’s Note
Dear Friends & Neighbors,
It is normally the time of year when we get to reflect on Hunger Action Month. This year has been anything but normal and reflection or strategizing for fundraising has taken a backseat to long hours and a lot of hard work to keep pace with the demand for food from so many.
There have been ever-changing rules and requirements imposed by various agencies, but through these challenges, we have been able to stay focused on why we do what we do and set aside the unimportant to continue our campaign – “Fighting Hunger – Feeding Hope.”
It is always such a privilege to watch our community come together to step up and take action to help our neighbors. Every day I am reminded of how generous, diverse, and passionate our community is. I am so grateful that you choose to stand with us as we build a healthier future. I hope you will take a moment to read about what is happening at the Rescue Mission Alliance Valley Food Bank—to share in the stories of families adjusting to the virus environment, the students starting back to schools, and the distribution network that is helping local families thrive.
I hope you see yourself in these stories. After all, you are the one who makes it all possible.
