Pantry offers more than food—visitors enjoy music, fellowship, meals
Reseda First United Methodist Kingdom Food Pantry continues to find ways to help many in need of food. More and more people living on a fixed income aren’t able to provide themselves and their families with nutritious meals. They may be in between jobs, out of work, or recovering from illnesses. They could be veterans with limited income, unhoused folks feeling abandoned and, most recently, families coming from Russia and Ukraine.
We are grateful to the Rescue Mission Alliance Valley Food Bank for providing food to our community every Wednesday from 1-5 p.m.
The Kingdom Food Pantry is set up as a farmer’s market, giving our “Pantry Friends” the opportunity to choose food that meets their nutritional needs. Hot lunches are provided along with fellowship in an open-air, friendly environment.
Music can also be enjoyed each week, led by a man experiencing homelessness and a church member with special needs. Providing opportunities through the food pantry helps to give them purpose. The community benefits as music provides spiritual and emotional nourishment to our pantry friends and volunteers.
The Kingdom Children’s Ministry offers a safe, quiet, designated area for children which includes lunch, snacks, crafts and ministry.
We are forever changing to meet the needs of the community and truly appreciate the continued support from the Rescue Mission Alliance Valley Food Bank.
