At first Elvia came to the food pantry for the same reason many people come; they are in need of food! Like most, Elvia found out about the distribution through a friend and decided to check it out. Once there, she was shocked by the number of people and the abundance of food. She noticed how nice all of the volunteers were and that everyone was working together with a great smile.

Over time, Elvia came to trust the volunteers, and when asked if she wanted prayer, she opened up about a medical issue she had been suffering with for over a year. She had an allergic reaction to something that made her life difficult. Nothing made it better. However, after receiving prayer at the food distribution, Elvia was instantly healed and has not had any symptoms since.

Elvia has also gotten a job, which is helping her family get back on their feet. Money is still tight, so she still comes every month for food, however, she can see God upon her family. When asked what she would like to tell the Rescue Mission Alliance Valley Food Bank, Elvia said that she is so thankful for the organization and she prays that God continues to bless them so they can continue their mission to help those in need.
