Pantry Fills in the Gap

Miguel

Miguel and Marie found themselves in a predicament. After 22 years of loyal service, Miguel was laid off from his job. During the six months that Miguel looked for work, the food he received from the pantry helped him feed his family during a lean time. Not long after Miguel found work again, Marie found out that she soon was going to be laid off from her seasonal job.

While receiving the food is not a long-term solution, they have explained that every little bit helps while they get back up on their feet. The money they save receiving groceries helps them utilize their money to buy meat and other essentials. They also share any food they have with their friends who are also struggling to make ends meet.
Miguel even picks up some of his senior citizen friends to ensure that they too can get proper nutrition while on a fixed income. Miguel and Marie express their deepest thanks to the Rescue Mission Alliance Valley Food Bank for its generous contributions. The ministry has enabled them a bit of peace in what would be an otherwise trying time for them.
