Franco is ‘overwhelmed with gratitude’
Franco receives food from the pantry at La Voz Church, where he now also volunteers.
Franco recently visited the food pantry at La Voz Sylmar Seventh Day Adventist Church for the third time. Currently, he is without steady income, so the food he receives has been a blessing.
“I am overwhelmed with gratitude. I am unemployed right now, and the help I receive has benefited me greatly,” Franco said.
Franco is so grateful to be able to get fresh food that he decided to give back by serving as a regular volunteer at the food pantry. He has great admiration for those who volunteer their time.
“I feel good sharing and helping with this program that benefits so many people,” he said. “I like the way they serve and organize the distribution of food.
“There is a lot of discipline, obedience, and dedication, and everyone does it selflessly. There is no salary or any form of personal profit. The greatest satisfaction you get is seeing happy, joyful faces. God bless those who volunteer.”
Rescue Mission Alliance Valley Food Bank provides food for the La Voz Sylmar SDA pantry, which is open Wednesdays from 5 to 6:30 p.m. It is located at 13550 Herron Street.
