Widow, retiree seeks help from Lighthouse Food Pantry
Sylvia is a widow who is also retired. The monthly Social Security payment that she receives barely covers her house payment, leaving her without any funds to buy groceries. Sylvia is further struggling financially, due to the care and support she must lend to her mentally disabled son.
Sylvia’s good friend told her about the food pantry ministry at Lighthouse of San Fernando and it has been a huge help for her. She notices a difference in the little amount of money that she can spend on food. Now with the Food Bank’s help, the meals go a long way, which really helps the family.
Sylvia has been so blessed by the pantry’s support, that she would like to volunteer and help assist with the ministry at some point in time. She is so grateful for the food that she and her family are receiving during these tough times.
