Answer to Her Prayers

vcrm staff

Joy is a choice; Candice and her daughter Kim have decided to choose joy despite their circumstances. That is why, when you see them visiting the food pantry, you will find them with beautiful smiles as they reflect on God’s goodness. A woman living on Social Security, Candice has found it hard to make ends meet every month. With things like rent to pay first, she does not always have money left over for healthy food.

She is also helping two other families who are living with her as they all try to support one another in the hardships that they are facing. But overall, more families have meant more stress and more expenses for Candice. With a husband on disability, there always seems to be more month than money.

Candice knows the faithfulness of God and she knows that the food distribution is an answer to her prayers. She was blown away by, not just how well everything was organized, but by how positive everyone has been. Candice and her daughter Kim have received more than just food they need, but also the prayers they have craved. Although they are not able to make it to a church service, Candice and her family are now able to watch church services streaming online and truly experience God’s presence in their home.

When asked what she wanted to share with the Rescue Mission Alliance Valley Food Bank she exclaimed, “Thank you so much!” She realizes that if it were not for the generous donations, that none of this would be possible. Because of the efforts of everyone involved, Candice has been able to get the help she needs, which has lessened some of the stress in her life. Through it all, she remains joyful and trusting God will continue to provide for their needs.
