FOOD PANTRIES PROVIDE FOR THOSE IN NEED—AND FOR THOSE WANTING TO GIVE BACK

George has returned every week since he stopped by to offer his help

The food pantry at Reseda First United Methodist Church is a haven for those in the community, providing fresh fruits and vegetable, dry goods, and other items to those families and seniors who are struggling. Aside from helping those experiencing hunger or food insecurity, it also gives many people a place to volunteer.

George came to the food pantry and asked how he could help our operation. We are an older congregation and suggested that he could best serve by helping to set up for the pantry at 6 a.m. He has returned every week since that first day.

I asked George why he came to offer his help. His reply was simple: “Thanks to God, I am still here. The Lord has blessed me, so I live everyday wanting to bless people back.” We here at Reseda First United Methodist Church’s food pantry have certainly been blessed.
